Altamira Training is a registered delivery centre of the National Open College Network (NOCN) an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation and licensed by the British Woodworking Federation (BWF). As an approved NOCN training provider we are approved to deliver the SiteRight assured BWF Fire Door Installation Awareness 2 day course. The course has been developed in collaboration between NOCN Group and the British Woodworking Federation to promote awareness in the construction and manufacturing industries of the factors involved in the appropriate installation of timber fire doors and doors sets.

Who is the course for?
This course will benefit anyone who works with fire doors and fulfils the requirement for the Level 3 Advanced Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship Standard.

The duration of this course is two days.

Course Cost
The cost of the two-day Fire Door Awareness Training is £300.00, which covers registration and enrolment with NOCN Cskills Awards, assessment, quality assurance and certification on completion.

Course Content

  • The role of timber fire door assemblies and door sets and why it is important that they are installed correctly
  • Understanding how fire door assemblies and door sets work and their place in the wider passive fire protection system
  • Legislation and guidance associated with fire door assemblies and door sets
  • Considerations before installing fire door assemblies and door sets
  • Considerations when installing fire door assemblies and door sets
  • Considerations on completion of the installation of fire door assemblies and door sets.

Assessment
A written assessment is required to complete this course and qualify for certification.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must be over the age of 16 and working towards a Level 3 Advanced Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship Standard or currently working with fire doors and meet the requirements of the above standard.
